Slept Much Better Last Night

We slept much better last night than the previous couple of nights. I guess he was just over tired and maybe slightly congested the past couple of nights. Last night we had lots of cuddle and rock time before bed (I actually thought I had rocked him to sleep) and rubbed him down in vicks. So I'm not sure if he could just breath and therefore was able to go to sleep on his own or if the rocking for awhile before laying him down helped.

All I know is I layed him down he seemed to be asleep, I then heard him in there playing, and next thing I knew he was sleeping. I had to go in once or twice while he was playing to give him back his paci and that was it. At one point the paci was outside of the crib. I heard him hitting it against his crib rails so I'm assuming he was holding it above the bumpers and dropped it. :)

And the Videos:

This is when he first really started to reach and play with his playmat. He loved the frog the most.

His fist try of (homemade)rice cereal.

And this is his first time rolling over at Mom and Dads. Mom and Dad took this video one night when they had him. I didn't know about it until he was 6 months old :) Mom and Dad were waiting until he rolled over at home first before showing me this, so to capture our "first" time rolling over. After seeing this video we know now why it took him 3 more months to roll over LOL Mom and Megan got REALLY excited oncee he hit his belly!

Fighting Sleep...

Little man has been fighting sleep for the past two days. Both at nap and bedtime. If we hold him and rock him to sleep he'll go down with a little bit of fighting. Laying him down awake...yeah no such luck. I use to be able to lay him down sleepy and within 10 mins with minimal fussing he would be asleep. Now he cries his head off and we eventually give in and rock him to sleep. I don't know if it's sleep regression we're dealing with or if we somehow have created bad habits. If we created bad habits I'm not sure how. From what I can figure he went from going down on his own to the next night wanting to be rocked to sleep. I've looked a little bit into the sleep regression and if it is what we are dealing with then it could be a couple of weeks. The sleep regression could be caused by several things, getting sick, teething, developmental milestones, temperature change. All of which he is slightly dealing with. We have the second tooth that just came through. He's really started rolling well this weekend, it's been hot outside, and I think he's dealing with congestion, his nose is so snotty. So we shall see. I can only take about 10 mins of his really fussing hard and last night at the 5 and 10 min check in we couldn't even calm him down in his crib. So we picked him up and rocked him to sleep. I cleaned his nose and put vicks on him last night and he seemed to sleep pretty well after that. Of course I made sure he was asleep before putting him down.

I also have decided at some point I'm going to put foil over his windows to block out the sun. I have come to the conclusion that because it gets bright in his room about 5:45 that's why he's getting up at that time. It was stormy this morning and stayed darker just a bit longer. He slept until 6.

I've started during the week bringing him into the bedroom when he gets up in the morning and we relax in bed and watch a bit of TV before getting the day started. With him waking up a bit earlier now it is nice to be able to spend a little time together before getting the day started. Today he snuggled with Deedee for about 30 seconds before Deedee had enough of it. I was able to at least snap a quick picture of them.
