Where has the time gone...

Wesley is now 6 months old...I don't know how it's gone by so quickly. I really need to use the blog more to document everything he's accomplishing!

Lets see...in 6 months he is now cutting his second tooth, and let me tell you! It hurts when he chomps down on your finger these days!!

He is sitting up unsupported fairly decently, but has no desire to crawl. Tummy time is still not his favorite thing. He's able to roll from his belly to his back but doesn't really care about rolling from his back to his belly, at least not from what I've seen.

We have transitioned him into sleeping unswaddled and the boy can get around that crib pretty darn well for not rolling!! He starts out in the middle of his crib and throughout the night as I check on him or have to retrieve a paci for him he is on the far left then he's on the far right!! How does he move so well when sleeping!!! He doesn't move near as much when he's down playing on the floor.

The transitioning of sleeping unswaddled has gone better than I expected it to. The first night he woke up at about 5am and fussed for 5 mins, I went in gave him his paci and his bear and left the room. He then fussed for another 2 minutes before going back to sleep. So night one a total of 7 minutes.

The second night I but him down awake but unswaddled as he wouldn't settle down and go to sleep with us holding him. He layed in bed listening and watching his musical box that puts pictures up on the ceiling for a little while then started to fuss. I let him cry for 5 minutes again, went in gave him his paci and bear and left. He fell asleep right after that. So second night 5 mins crying.

Last night I again laid him down awake and turned on his music box since he wouldn't settle down with us. He laid there for a while and then I started to hear him slightly fuss, nothing like he did the first two nights. He barely even kicked on his monitor as I have it set to a certain decimal before it kicks on in our room. He ended up going to sleep without me having to go in there at all. Last night he woke up once or twice during the night and before I even realized I was in his room I was putting his paci back in. That's all he was needing so he went right back to sleep. Only once last night did he wake up screaming because he ended up getting his foot stuck with all his moving about, so I had to go and help him with that. I think we'll be putting his crib bumpers on this evening to help prevent that.

He's also on solid foods now, 3 times a day. We get up each morning and eat oatmeal that I've added Dark Karo Syrup and brown sugar to. He eats lunch at daycare and then we feed him dinner at home. He's had a fiar amount of table food but still has to have things cut up or minced really so he doesn't choke on them. He loves spaghetti and tomato soup but isn't sure what to think of mashed potatoes or chicken nuggets. Oh and he HATES baked cheetos but likes the regular cheetos.

He also loves to stand and walk around in his walker. I'm pretty sure he's going to walk before he crawls. Which isn't as unusal as I thought it was. The doctor said about 1 in 20 kids skip walking and goes straight to crawling.

Most nights Eric and I spend the night acting like fools trying to get him to giggle and laugh at us. Nothing in this world is better than hearing him giggle!! He is such a happy baby and smiles all the time.

I can't think of any other major milestones at this point. I want to post all his stats soon as well from each one of his check-ups with the doctor and I'll also get some pictures posted in another blog soon.
